Does your child dream of being a cake artist? Then for four fun-filled days join our award-winning cake artist, Rebekah Ontiveros, and learn to make edible art! Rebekah has competed on cake decorating competitions with both Food Network and Netflix among other notable prizes and publications! Together we explore the amazing and creative world of cake decorating!

Day 1- Buttercream Basics
-Learn about making and tinting Swiss Meringue buttercream icing

-Learn basic piping techniques using various piping tips

-Practice techniques on cupcakes to take home

Day 2- Fun with Fondant
-Learn the basics of kneading, coloring, conditioning and rolling fondant

-Learn basic fondant modeling techniques

-Practice techniques on cupcakes to take home =)

Day 3-Layer Cake Basics
– Design a layer cake and create a basic design sketch

-Learn how to cut and fill a pre-made cake

-Learn how to do a crumb coat and straighten cake

-Begin creating fondant sugar pieces for cake based on your sketch

Day 4-Final Coat and Decoration
– Learn how to finish icing cake with emphasis on straightening, leveling, and smooth finishes

-Learn to create your design using your sketch. Also learn how and when to make design alterations so that it looks fabulous.

– Use additional techniques we’ve learned to decorate a cake to take home.

COST: $375 per student (6 class max occupancy)

Special Notes: This class is recommended for students who do not require 1-on-1 attention. Students should be able to follow instructions in a professional culinary environment. This is not an allergy-free zone. In some instance, some allergy needs may not be able to be accommodated. If your child has an allergy that may become a concern during class check with us prior to booking this class. Students who are disruptive to class may be asked to leave without refund.

Because your purchase holds your place in class until camp (and therefore prevents others from participating) refunds will not be given for schedule conflicts that arise or absences.
